Youth Ministries

HOG Youth is the student-oriented ministry of Heart of God Fellowship that is specifically targeted at reaching the hearts of young people from the 7th to 12th grades. At Heart of God, we understand that kids in junior high and high school are in the truly formative years of their lives and are seeking for answers and experiences that will help them discover who they want to be for the rest of their lives. What we want to be able to do is offer them an opportunity to find out what fantastic adventures and opportunities God wants to offer them in their lives, and then lead them in a relationship with Him. It is our highest goal to create an atmosphere of fun and fellowship that creates an inviting experience for both current believers as well as those youth who have not had a lot of prior exposure to church.

We offer two youth services a week that give youth a chance to fellowship and worship with other young people. We meet at our location in Odessa, MO at 7:00pm every Wednesday night, and at our location in Buckner, MO at 6:45pm every Thursday night.

Our youth in Buckner, MO are lead by our Youth Director, Melissa Dziurawiec. Melissa is the daughter of Heart of God’s Senior Pastor, Bob Kaps, and has been leading the youth ministries for about the last 10 years. Along with her husband, Chris, she teaches the youth group on Thursday nights and coordinates most of the several youth events that we plan throughout the year.

Services in Odessa, MO are lead by Ross Given along with his wife, Tiona. Ross has been a member of Heart of God Fellowship for about 6 years and has been heavily involved in youth ministry for the past 4 years. He took over the Youth Minister position in Odessa in the summer of 2008 and has been leading the youth there ever since with a passion and energy that really speaks to and connects with the kids.
